Hi! I’m Perrin, a freelance cartographer, GIS analyst and photographer, published in National Geographic and Visual Capitalist, and author of two books.

Turning data into places, and places into stories.

I create bespoke maps and visual geography for science, culture, publishing, museums and exploration — from geographic illustrations and GIS projects to field photography. Photography complements my cartographic work by bringing a tangible, human dimension to landscapes that maps often render abstract, distant or aerial.

My work is rooted in two regions to which I have a deep personal connection: France, where I was born, and South Asia, where I have built lasting friendships and family ties. I am drawn to their landscapes, cultures and complex geographies, and explore them through colour, shape, symbols and visual storytelling.

Through my work, I seek to create a visual dialogue between geography, cartography and photography: a way of depicting our contemporary world in the age of the Anthropocene, global connectivity and mass consumption. I combine modern technologies and ancient cartographic traditions, scientific data and field observation, rigorous analysis and a more intuitive, creative approach.

For me, a map is not just a simple representation of space. It is a position, a point of view, a message and a narrative, to help up seeing, understanding and telling stories about the world around us.
